about
Fox Lily Herbals represents a lifelong commitment to land (Mohawk) in the Adirondack mountains of NY. I am the fox trying to preserve the trout lilies before me.
First came a home that held my father as I cared for him in his final years, now I gently pad the path of learning and unlearning toward kinship with this land.
Raised by a nordic ski center, my heart is bound to Adirondack soil. I’m driven by what nourishes healthy communities: working mountain landscapes and their capacity for restoring the human condition. As systems of change grow increasingly complex, I find solace in direct care work as a nurse and herbalist. It is my hope to integrate my work in these fields back to source, as our health depends on the ability to reconnect with the natural environment.
Fox Lily is a slow evolution. It’s all the jewels of being firmly rooted to place. As I work to grow herbs on the mountain, I’m delighted to share space with Dr. Gretchen Mills and offer in-person consultations at Wild Rose Ayurveda in downtown Saranac Lake, NY.

I came to herbalism through a passion for accessible and empowered community healthcare. As a nurse, I’m faced daily with deductive failures of the biomedical medical model in supporting chronic and systemic disease. I appreciate my training in biomedicine where it intersects with herbalism to inform a more integrated mind, body, and community perspective for long term health. A whole body approach is needed to address chronic, inflammatory conditions and regulate the nervous system to work toward hormonal balance. I believe herbs are especially helpful as adjuncts in supporting mental health and conditions of disconnection: anxiety, depression, stress, attention deficit, divergent spectrum, and body image disorders.

I studied with the Vermont Center for Integrated Herbalism from 2020-2022 (3 year clinical herbalism program). This 2000+ hr program was rooted in clinical research, pathophysiology, and traditional Western herbalism & drawing from Eastern philosophies (Ayurvedic and Chinese Medicine). In our 3rd year, we developed a clinical practice through the school’s supervised clinic where we met with clients, developed formulas, and discussed complex cases and herbal protocols in class. I worked with a variety of clients to support: anxiety management, hormonal balance, PMDD, palliative and cancer care, digestive issues, chronic stress, and adrenal fatigue.
From VCIH: “Our clinical program is rooted in the understanding that health is not only a goal or characteristic of the individual. Instead, we understand health and healing to be a property of larger social and ecological systems — an individual cannot be truly healthy in a sick society nor in a sick environment. We believe that the systems of domination and extraction that shape our culture cause harm and prevent health for all of us. We believe that dismantling these systems — and building systems of care in their place — is integral to the work of herbalists, not just on behalf of our clients, but in support of liberation and justice for everyone and the planet, our home.”
